Mohali, August 25

Seven persons died of Covid in the district today, taking the toll to 64. The district also saw 132 fresh cases and 83 recoveries.

A 50-year-old woman from Dhandrala, Dera Bassi, who was a patient of diabetes, fell prey to Covid-19. A 60-year-old man from Mohali city became the second fatality. A 42-year-old man from Baltana also lost his life due to the infection. He was suffering from a kidney disease.

Two fatalities were reported from Zirakpur — a 72-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman. They had co-morbidities such as diabetes and hypertension. A 58-year-old man from Baironpur, Bhago Majra, who was hypertensive, died of Covid. A 63-year-old man from Khlaur had co-morbidities such as cancer and diabetes. Meanwhile, new cases were reported from Mohali (48), Kharar (22), Zirakpur 20, Boothgarh block (6), Banur (2) and Gharuan (34). — TNS
