The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panchkula, has launched a month-long legal awareness campaign through a mobile van. The camp will run from December 2 to December 31.
Officers associated with the matter said this was a significant step towards enhancing access to justice and promoting legal literacy. They said the camp had been launched as per directions of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) with an aim to reach the rural population of Panchkula district through a mobile van to conduct legal awareness camps.
The campaign was inaugurated with the flagging off of the mobile van by PK Lal, Additional District and Sessions Judge, from the District Courts Complex. The specially designed van will travel to various villages in the district, holding 22 legal awareness camps.
One such camp through mobile van was held today at Trilokpur village of Barwala block. Next, the camp will be held at Dudhgarh, Madawala, Kami, Chikan, Naggal Routal villages of Pinjore, Mashyun in Morni.
Legal aid advocates and para-legal volunteers (PLVs) will accompany the van to hold the camps spreading information regarding fundamental rights, government schemes, and free legal services.
Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, CJM, DLSA, Panchkula, said the campaign was designed to empower rural communities by providing them with crucial legal knowledge.
“By addressing legal queries and offering free guidance, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between the justice system and rural citizens,” he added.
PK Lal, Additional District and Sessions Judge, emphasised the importance of such initiatives in ensuring that the justice delivery system is accessible and inclusive.
