The district administration issued additional restrictions within the municipal limits of the city with effect from August 18 till further orders.
The new restrictions regarding the night curfew are that the movement of individuals for all non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 9 pm and 5am within the municipal limits of the city.
However, essential activities, including operation of multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on national and state highways and unloading of cargo and travelling of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and airplanes will be permitted. Similarly, all industries running into 2-3 shifts will also remain open.
Restrictions
- Restaurants, hotels and other hospitality units to remain open till 8:30 pm
- Shops and shopping malls can open till 8pm
- Restaurants/hotels within shopping malls till 8:30pm
- Liquor vends till 8:30pm
- Any violations shall invite criminal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
