Murder suspect in Panchkula police dragnet
Panchkula, January 30
The Panchkula police have arrested a man who had allegedly murdered his friend with a hammer on Sunday night.
Police officials said the suspect, identified as Arvind Kumar, a resident of Sector 20, Panchkula, was absconding since the murder. A police team led by Virender Singh, incharge, Sector 20 police station, made the arrest.
Virender Singh said Kumar had been absconding from his house after the murder. “We started a process to nab him and arrested him from a cottage in Sector 19. He was presented in a local court, which sent him to judicial remand,” he said.
A resident of Mohali had on Monday lodged a complaint with the police regarding his brother’s murder. Kuldeep Singh stated that his brother Jagtar Singh Bobby knew Kumar and had a fight with him over some issue. He said Arvind attacked Bobby on the head. He was declared brought dead at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6. The police later registered a case of murder.
