Nandani, Rajni claim 4 wickets each in city’s win

Nandani Sharma and Rajni Devi claimed four wickets each to help Chandigarh pull off a seven-wicket win over Manipur in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy at SLIMS Cricket Ground in Puducherry today.
Manipur skipper Ganga won the toss and opted to bat. However, the decision backfired as the team was bowled out for 66 runs in 28.4 overs. Monica (24) was the only player to contribute in double figures to Manipur’s total. Nandani claimed the first wicket of the day as she accounted for Loidangton (2). She followed it up by wickets of Ganga (9), Rebika (0) and Nanao (3) to complete her tally of 4/16.
Rajni, meanwhile, accounted for the other opener K Ranjitha (9), Manganleima (0), Monica and Milan (0) as she completed her spell by claiming 4/17. Amanjot Kaur claimed Sonia for a naught and Chingkhei was run out by Moniak Pandey for 7. In reply, Chandigarh posted 67/3 in 23 overs. Openers Monika and Divya Sharma raised a 21-run partnership before Chingkhei claimed Monika for 9.
Chingkhei struck again as she claimed Amanjot (8), while Milan reduced the side further by claiming Parul Saini (1). Divya (22 off 75 balls, with three boundaries) and Manisha Badhan (16 off 31 balls, studded with two boundaries) helped the side achieve the target.
