National meet for young police officers ends

The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), in collaboration with the Chandigarh Police, organised the two-day 5th National Conference for Young Superintendents of Police from States/UTs and Commandants of CAPFs that concluded today.

The event also featured a police exposition showcasing cutting-edge advancements in law enforcement.

A total of 75 Superintendents of Police and Commandants from across the country participated in the conference, which was inaugurated by Punjab Governor-cum-Administrator of Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria.

Themed “Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Modern Policing”, the conference explored four critical sub-topics: New Criminal Laws, New Age Technologies for Smart Policing, Cross-Border Terrorism and Cyber Security.

The participating officers, divided into groups, presented their assigned topics, sharing insights from their field experiences, discussing challenges, identifying gaps and proposing actionable solutions. Experts and moderators from various fields from across the country engaged with the participants to address queries.

The sessions featured intensive brainstorming and deliberations on the integration of technology for smart policing, equipping participants with practical knowledge and tools to address contemporary challenges. The event provided invaluable exposure to young police officers responsible for maintaining law and order across the country, offering insights into strategies for peacekeeping and tackling modern-day threats effectively.

It was held in continuation of the programme relating to dedication of the successful implementation of new criminal laws by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This conference marked a significant step forward in fostering collaboration and innovation in policing, ensuring that India’s law enforcement remains prepared to address the evolving landscape of security challenges.
