Local tennis player Neeraj Yashpaul will play in the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) Tournament in Taiwan before attending an Elite Training Camp with the former Indian professional Somdev Devvarman.
The event will provide Yashpaul a critical opportunity to gain international match play experience, improve his UTR score and prepare for a seamless transition to the ITF Pro Tour. With multiple AITA singles titles and a silver medal at the Khelo India University Games, he has already made a strong mark on the national circuit. Known for his aggressive baseline play, outstanding footwork, and razor-sharp mental game, the youngster now looks to build on this foundation internationally.
“My strategy is to get maximum exposure — both nationally and internationally — to improve my UTR and eventually my ITF standing. I want to represent India in the Davis Cup and play in a Grand Slam. That’s the long-term vision and I’m giving it everything,” said Yashpaul. He added, “I am now entering a phase that demands international exposure, deep structure and sustained financial backing. I am actively looking to collaborate with brands and sponsors who believe in supporting athletes not only for their performance but also for their values,” said Yashpaul.
About the camp, Yashpaul said, “I am looking forward to having a vast experience under Devvarman. He has a rich experience. I have worked a lot on my fitness and will now focus on getting technical improvement,” he added.
