Owing to the heat wave, the Sewa Kendras in the district will be operational from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm from June 18 to 30. Earlier, the timings were from 9 am to 5.30 pm.

People can avail themselves of all type of services at the centres by taking prior appointment from mSewa app, COVA app, website dgrpg.punjab.gov.in or by dialling 8968593812-13. If the appointment counter is free, it can be utilised for the walk-in applicants.

The decision has also been taken in view of the necessity to maintain social distance due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
