Newborn found abandoned in Dhakoli

A newborn girl was found abandoned near a drain at mandi near the crematorium in Dhakoli around 3.15 pm this afternoon.

A grocery shop owner noticed the child wrapped in a saree and informed the local Asha worker, whoc arrived at the spot along with other area residents. The child was admitted to CHC Dhakoli, where she is undergoing a medical examination.

The police have registered a case and began an investigation into the matter.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
