Nihal steers PCC to victory

Punjab Cricket Clots (PCC) defeated Chhattisgarh by five wickets in a JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament match here today.
Put in to bat, Chhattisgarh made 226/9 in 50 overs. Amandeep Khare (54), Ahustosh Singh (52) and Shashank Chandrella (48) made useful contributions to the total.
Barinder Sran, Prerit Dutta and Krishan Alang scalped two wickets each, while Gurnoor Brar and Sumit Sharma bagged one wicket apiece.
In reply, PCC rode on Nihal Wadhera’s 98-run knock to reach home in 46 overs. Naman Dhir made 35 runs.
Despite winning this match, PCC could not make it to the semifinal as they had lost to UPCA. Both UPCA and PCC recorded two wins each. However, PCC having lost to UPCA in an earlier league encounter lagged on the head-to-head count.
