As many as nine IndiGo flights were cancelled at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport (SBSI), Chandigarh, as the airline meltdown entered sixth day on Monday. Flights arriving from Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi were cancelled. Similarly, flight departures to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Srinagar, Hyderabad and Delhi had to be cancelled. Both international flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi operated today with slight deviation in timing.
The footfall at the airport was relatively less on the sixth day after the fiasco as passengers were still vary of the airline’s flight arrivals and departures. Only those, who were in emergency or could not avoid travelling, were heading to the airport, said a Mohali-based tour operator.
“Refund is under process for cancellations upto December 15. We are on track to deliver baggage to respective customers in the next 36 hours,” an airline statement read.
