The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) issued no challan on Day 1 of its drive against water wastage. Interestingly, the HSVP claimed that its teams found no violator even though they have intensified their drive against the wastage of water.
Rs. 5,000 fine for first offence
For the first offence, a fine of Rs. 5,000 will be imposed on the violator. If the offence is repeated, the water connection of the violator will be disconnected without any notice. An amount of Rs. 1,000 will have to be paid for the revival of the water connection
HSVP XEN (Civil) NK Payal said on the first day, they issued no challan for water wastage across sectors.
“Our teams didn’t find anybody wasting water,” he stated. He added that they had intensified their drive and would issue challans for water wastage without any warning. For a week, HSVP teams, comprising junior engineers and SDOs, only issued warnings to violators and informed them about the drive.
