Chandigarh-Delhi airfare continues to be in the range of Rs 11,000-17,000 till February 17.

The blockades on the highway effected in view of the farmers’ protest have also affected the Chandigarh-Delhi taxi service. Vikram singh Pundir of the Tricity Cab Union said, “No one from our group of 800 taxi drivers ventured on the Chandigarh-Delhi NH today.”

Sector 55-based taxi operator Jaswinder Singh said on normal days, the fare of a five-seat car from Chandigarh to the Delhi airport ws Rs 3,500. “Owing to the blockades, we have to take detours, therefore, the fare has been increased to about Rs 4,500. Since bookings have been made a month ago, we cannot say no to the customers. But many drivers are reluctant to take fresh bookings.”
