Despite anti-encroachment drives in Mani Majra motor market, widespread violations continue in the area.
Corridors and roads are blocked with repair items while parking lots are full with dumped vehicles. Parking space, it seems is closed for the commuters as they are blocked by vehicles needing repairs.
Ravi Kumar, a Mani Majra resident, said, “It is a nuisance. It looks like all corridors and parking lots are owned by the mechanics. They have done massive encroachments.”
“The MC should hold regular anti-encroachment drives here. One drive will not help,” added Sarla Devi, another resident.
In case of a fire accident, the encroachments at the motor market can lead to a tragedy, said yet another resident. “In such a scenario, fire tenders will not be able to reach the affected building as the parking lots and corridors are already blocked.”
