No unauthorised entry into Mohali district: Deputy Commissioner

No unauthorised entry will be allowed into the district and strict vigil will be maintained at all five border check posts. Everyone entering the district will have to go through proper procedures as laid down in the advisory regarding SOPs, which will be applicable from tomorrow. This was stated by Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan.

Medical screening at all border check posts

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said in view of the rising Covid cases, the district administration would deploy teams from the Police and the Health departments to make sure that anyone entering the district was made to go through proper medical screening at all border check posts at Siswan, Jharmari, Zirakpur, Bohra Khera Morh and Nagal Morh.

Only e-pass generated from the COVA app would be accepted, he said.

Dayalan said data entry operators would also be deployed at all border check posts to maintain entire information about every individual entering the district. Experts at each check post will also assist people to download the COVA app.

Dayalan said any person, whether major or minor, coming to Punjab via road, rail or air, till further orders, would be medically screened when he/she enters the state. People would be required to e-register themselves by downloading the COVA app on their cellphones and then registering themselves and each member of their family travelling with them.

He said except for frequent travellers, all inbound persons would have to undertake a self-quarantine for 14 days. During this period, they would have to update their health status daily on the app or call 112. For international travellers, institutional quarantine would be for the first seven days and home-quarantine for the next seven days. Anyone found violating instructions would be liable for penal action. — TNS
