“Though special camps have been organised in many schools, yet the pace of vaccination among children in the city is quite slow,” he said.

So far, about 90 per cent children in the 15 to 17 age group have been vaccinated with the first dose, while 52 per cent have taken the second dose also.

In the 12 to 14 age group, only 29 per cent children have been vaccinated with the first dose, while 0.5 per cent have taken the second dose also.

The UT Administration has said efforts should be made to cover all eligible children within a period of 15 days and for the purpose, camps should be organised in schools.

The authorities concerned have been directed to compile data of unvaccinated children and prepare a schedule for the schools where Covid vaccination camps can be organised by the Health Department.

It has been stated that attempts should be made to vaccinate at least 50 children at each vaccination camp. —
