Chandigarh, July 24
A permanent Lok Adalat has issued notices to the Chandigarh Administration, MC and Punjab Mandi Board to file reply on August 13 on a plea for providing better facilities in ‘kisan mandis’ being held in different sectors.
In an application filed under Section 22 of the Legal Services Authority Act, 1985, advocates Vinod Verma and Sukhwinder Singh filed a plea before the court to issue directions to provide parking, level grounds and paths and lay paver blocks in these mandis. They also prayed for issuing directions to install boards displaying vegetable and fruits prices at all entry points of the mandis.
