Chandigarh, February 19
A delegation of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) today called on new UT Adviser Rajeev Verma and apprised him about issues requiring urgent attention.
The delegation comprised CBM president Charanjiv Singh, former presidents-cum-patrons Diwakar Sahoonja and Anil Vohra, and general secretaries Sanjeev Chadha and Baljinder Singh Gujral.
Charanjiv appealed for early notifying of one-time settlement scheme for clearing all pending VAT assessment cases. Sahoonja informed the Adviser that the CBM was in the process of building a viable online business portal for small and medium traders of the city.
Meanwhile, a delegation of property federation under its president Kamaljit Singh Panchhi also met the Adviser and discussed the issue of discontinuation of share-wise registries in the city for the past nearly 12 months after Sectors 1-30 were declared heritage sectors by the Supreme Court. The Adviser was requested to restart share-wise registries in Sector 31 onwards as “nothing has been mentioned about these sectors in the SC orders”.
