Now, enjoy boating in Sirhind canal
In a major boost to tourism in Rupnagar district, boating and adventure activities were started in Sirhind canal, near Chamkaur Sahib, today. Locals and tourists visiting Dastaan-e-Shahadat can now enjoy boat ride amidst breath-taking views in the lap of nature.
MLA Dr Charanjit Singh and Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain inaugurated the facility amidst excited bunch of tourists. Jain said, “It is our endeavour to promote water tourism for the pilgrims and tourists visiting Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Dastaan-e-Shahadat.”
“Two 10 seater motorboats, a 12 seater boat, a jet-ski and a rescue boat has been made available on a contract of seven years. Complete safety arrangements have been made, including life jackets and paddle boats.”— TNS
