Residents will no longer have to do the rounds of departments to get permission for holding various events. To book a ground or hold a rally, they can now apply for permission online.
A single-window system for granting permission for 11 types of events in Chandigarh has been started. According to the officials, more services can be added to it as per the need.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nishant Kumar Yadav today inaugurated three online services. To obtain permission for various events, residents can visit the website https://serviceonline.gov.in/. The can also pay fee online and track the status of their application. The events include
rallies, nagar kirtans, road shows, shobha yatras, protests, awareness programmes, cyclothons, walkathons, exhibitions or melas, concerts and jagrans (for gathering of 500 or more).
For events where 20,000 or more people will participate, organisers can apply for permission through this system, but a committee formed under the chairmanship of the DC will first call them for a presentation on such events.
All departments concerned will digitally sign the NOC for various events and send it back to the DC office, which will grant the final permission.
The DC also launched an online document registration system, namely the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and the online Certified Copy of Record of Rights, at the Sub-Registrar Office.
An initiative of the UT Administration, the NGDRS is aimed at modernising the property registration process. Under the NGDRS, online appointments can be taken. The system also supports online payment of registration fees. Also, users can track the status of their document registration requests in real-time, along with online delivery of their registered deed. The system is available on the portal https://ngdrs.chd.gov.in/NGDRS_CH.
With regard to the ownership record of the Revenue Department of more than 35,000 shareholders, an online certified copy of record of rights (RoR) can be obtained on the website https://serviceonline.gov.in/. The residents can apply, track and even download the certified copy.
