Chandigarh’s Madan Lal clocked 34:58.91s to top the podium in the 5000m competition in the men’s 80+ age group on the penultimate day of the All India Masters Athletics Championship at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, here today.
Punjab’s Charanjit Ram (35:18.46s) and Ghammand Singh (35:54.85s) finished second and third respectively.
In the men’s 90+ category, Hori Lal (37:57.42s) won the gold medal, while Haryana’s Om Parkash (41:59.26s) led the field in the men’s 85+ age group. He was followed by Chandigarh’s Amrik Singh (42:06.63s) in second place.
Punjab’s Mohinder Singh (35:16.30s) dominated the 75+ age group. Haryana’s Tej Pal (35:17.82s) bagged the silver, while Navjot Singh (36:01.28s) had to be content with the bronze medal.
In the 70+ category, Jai Singh Malik (33:12.21s) clinched the gold medal, while Telangana’s A Madhusudan (33:57.02s) took home the silver. Daya Nand (34:38.76s) clinched the bronze medal.
Harpal Singh (33:46.92s), C Narayanan Nai (33:48.54s) and Subhash Chander (33:54.26s) claimed the top-three positions in the men’s 65+ age group.
Kartar Singh (32:16.88s) topped the chart in the 60+ age group. Rohtash (32:54.45s) finished second, while Gurdeeep Singh (33:23.31s) bagged the third position.
In the men’s 50+ competition, Surendra Pratap clocked 30:24.67s to win the gold medal. Jaswant Rai (31:01.10s) grabbed the silver, while Prabulaiah (31:14.77s) finished with the bronze medal.
Rajamallaiah shines
Nonagenarian Rajamallaiah clocked 1:14.72s to win the 200m gold in the men’s 95+ age group.
Raghuvir (43.73s) topped the podium in the men’s 90+ competition, while Joginder Singh (55.41s) led the field in the men’s 85+ category.
In the men’s 75+ competition, Sawat Ram took 34.88s to win the gold medal. He was followed by Surinder Kumar (38.32s) and Alagan (38.50s) in second and third places, respectively.
Hari Haran bagged the 200m gold in the 70+ age group with a timing of 32.11s. Bal Singh Virk (32.29s) got the silver, while MRP Babu (32.62s) won the bronze medal.
Savinderb Singh (27.12s), Ravindran V (28.35s) and Bhim Singh (28.73s) won the top-three positions, respectively, in the men’s 60+ age group.
Mohammed Afsai (24.89s) claimed the top spot in the men’s 35+ age group. Amresh Sharma (25.73s) finished second and Tajinder Singh (25.79s) secured the third position.
Sathyavathi on top
In the women’s 200m competition, K Sathyavathi (50.79s) bagged the gold medal in the 70+ category. She was followed by Surjeet Dhanoa (52.90s) in second place, while Vimla Devi (1:28.20s) bagged the third position.
Susy Methew (45.20s) dominated the field in the 65+ age group. Shakuntala (47.21s) won the silver, while Shimla Verma (50.14s) returned home with the bronze medal.
Mareena AL (38.76s), N Kadam Devi (40.57s) and Saraswati Devi (45.78s) bagged the top-three positions, respectively, in the women’s 55+ category.
Ram Raj recoreded a timing of 17:50.08s to win the 1500m gold in the men’s 45+ category. Sabu Paul (18:32.81s) claimed the silver, while Sasti Charan (19:31.35s) won the bronze medal.
Raghuvir jumps to gold
In the men’s long jump competition, Raghuvir (2.55m) won the gold medal in the 90+ age group.
K Ibobal Singh (2.89m), K Ramarao (2.25m) and Om Parkash (1.15m) won the top-three positions in the men’s 85+ category, while Manash Kumar (2.32m) claimed the gold medal in the men’s 80+ age group. He was followed by Jagdish Suther (2.01m) in second place.
In the men’s 75+ competition, Gurdial Singh (3.38m) won the gold medal, while Sawat Ram (3.05m) pocketed the silver. Alagan (2.76m) finished with the bronze medal.
Bal Singh Virk (4.12m) topped the podium in the men’s 70+ age group. Dharam Pal (3.35m) finished second, while Jagir Singh (3.00m) bagged the third position.
In the men’s discus throw, Dharshan Singh won the gold medal with a throw of 20.47m. P Anji Reddy (12.08m) secured the silver.
