UT Engineering Secretary Prerna Puri today chaired a meeting to deliberate on the modalities for the transfer of V3 roads in the city to the Chandigarh Administration and to formulate an action plan for their timely repair and maintenance.
The meeting was attended by UT Chief Engineer CB Ojha, MC Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora and senior officials of both the Engineering Department and the MC.
During the meeting, MC officials informed that nearly 20 stretches of V3 roads were in a poor shape and required urgent repair/recarpeting.
Puri instructed engineering officials to conduct joint site inspections and prepare a priority-wise action plan. As an interim measure, she directed that stretches requiring urgent pothole repairs be identified and preparatory work be undertaken in advance so that the repair work could begin immediately upon transfer of these roads to the Chandigarh Administration.
She further emphasised that pruning of trees along V3 roads, wherever necessary, should also be carried out in close coordination with the MC.
