Chandigarh, December 3

After discouraging government employees from entering offices without vaccination certificate, similar instructions have been issued for teachers of government schools. Now, they will be allowed to enter school premises if they have either first dose vaccination certificate or negative RT-PCR report of the past 72 hours.

The District Education Officer has issued instructions to the heads of all schools, asking them not to allow officials to attend their duties without negative RT-PCR report of the past 72 hours who have not yet taken at least first dose of Covid vaccine.

The instructions have been issued once again in view of the Omicron variant scare in the city and most residents not turning for their second dose of vaccine. As per the figures provided by the Health Department, over 1, 80,000 people have not taken their second dose and also missed the due date.

As per the directions, the onus of ensuring these instructions will be upon the officials concerned and in case any of them found to be on duty either without first dose of Covid vaccination or without a valid RT-PCR report, strict action will be taken against him or her.

The school heads will also prepare a list of those officials who have not yet taken the first dose. It has also been stated that the officials, who have taken their first dose, should not be asked again about vaccination certificate.
