One booked for illegal mining on civic body land

The Panchkula police have booked one individual in a case of illegal mining at Sukhdarshanpur village in Panchkula.

Officials from the mining department said they along with police party led by SHO Chandimandir Prithvi Singh, police post Ramgarh incharge Mukesh and others, carried-out an inspection of Corporation land at Sukhdarshanpur village here on August 4.

Atul Ganathia of the mining department said the fresh illegal sand and gravel mining was carried out on the Mattawala to Raipur Rani Rani road, nearby the Sukhdarshanpur village bridge, while descending into the river.

As per a tip-off, the mining was carried-out with the help of two tippers and one JCB machine by Manish, alias Kala, a resident of Shyamtu village. The officers reached the site and collected vital information about the act.

The police have registered a case against the man under Sections 21 (1) of the Mines and Minerals (Regulation of Development) Act 1957, Section 303 of the BNS, and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
