Chandigarh: The police arrested a Nayagaon resident, Phal Kataria, 26, while consuming liquor at public place. The incident took place near the Taxi Stand in Sector 36 on December 31. A case under the Punjab Police Act, 2007, and the IPC has been registered. TNS

Chandigarh: A Sector 20 resident, Parmod Kumar, told the the police that a scooterist snatched his mobile phone near the Sector 32-33 rotary on December 31 at about 3:10 pm. A case under Section 379A of the IPC has been registered. TNS

One arrested in arms case

Chandigarh: The police arrested a Hallo Majra resident, Rohan Kumar, 21, near Power House Road, Ram Darbar, after recovering a country-made pistol and a live round from his possession on December 31. A case under the Arms Act has been registered at the Sector 31 police station. TNS

Teenaged boy goes missing

Chandigarh: A Sector 29 resident reported that her 17-year-old son was missing from their house since December 31. A case under Section 363 of the IPC has been registered at the Industrial Area police station. TNS
