The police have arrested one person and booked his associate for allegedly snatching a car at knife point near a filling station on the PCA Stadium road.

The incident took place on the night of August 7.

The arrested accused have been identified as Miyanpur Changer resident Gurinder, alias Kala. Meanwhile, his associate, Sukhwinder, alias Sukha, is yet to be arrested.

The complainant, Satyam of Maloya, had told the police that he had come to the filling station to refill CNG when two bike-borne youths arrived at the spot and snatched his car at knifepoint.

Based on the statement, a case was registered at the Mullanpur police station on August 8.

Mullanpur Superintendent of Police Mohit Aggarwal said, “The bike used in the crime and the car have been recovered. The suspect was produced in the court and sent to a two-day police remand.”
