One held for stealing protein supplements



Mohali, January 20

The police have arrested a youth on the charge of stealing protein supplements worth Rs 3 lakh from a godown in Industrial Area, Phase 3.

The accused has been identified as Rohit Mishra, a native of UP, who is currently residing in Phase 1, Mohali. Another accused Gianesh Mishra, also a native of UP, is absconding. Rahil Jain, a businessman and a resident of Chandigarh, had filed a complaint to the police that two of his employees had stolen protein supplements from his godown. Jain said he came to know about the theft after checking CCTV footages.

A case against the duo has been registered under Sections 381, 408 and 120-B of the IPC.

“The accused confessed that he used to sell the stolen supplements to his customers at lower prices. The other accused will be arrested soon,” said Inspector Manphul Singh. — TNS
