Panchkula, April 20
Haryana Speaker and local MLA Gian Chand Gupta today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development works worth about Rs. 4.35 crore. Besides, he announced that a synthetic track would be constructed in at least one park in each sector for the convenience of senior citizens.
Gupta inaugurated a fast rubber track at a park in Sector 6. He laid the foundation stone of various development works, including construction of roads in Sector 6, construction of community toilets, curb channels, grills and other beautification work in Sector 15 at a cost of about Rs. 1.25 crore and construction of a night food street at Mansa Devi Complex, Sector 5, at a cost of Rs. 45 lakh.
To promote nightlife, the authorities have planned to build four night food streets in Sector 5 of Mansa Devi Complex, Sector 8, Sector 20 and Sector 26. The night food streets, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore, will be developed on the lines of Delhi Haat. These streets would have food stalls offering flavours and cuisines of various states and regions like Punjabi, Rajasthani and Gujarati and those popular in the world like Italian, Mexican and Chinese.
Gupta said the state government was committed to the development of Panchkula.
Toilets in all vending zones
Gupta said it had been decided to provide toilet facilities in all vending zones of Panchkula. He announced it during the inauguration of construction work of a public convenience in Sector 15.
All C roads in Sector 6 would be constructed at a cost of about Rs. 2.42 crore and this work would be completed in the next around 20 days.
