Only vehicles with stickers to be allowed entry from today: PU
The Panjab University authorities today again announced that vehicles with the mandatory entry stickers would be allowed to enter the campus. The university had earlier announced to adopt the policy during the Panjab University Students Council (PUCSC) election. Today being a gazetted holiday, the university security remained at ease and most likely would check vehicles at the entry gates from tomorrow.
As per the announcement, the day scholars have to get their vehicle details registered at their respective departments to get an entry sticker. The registration was opened during the PUCSC elections, but received cold response. The parking stickers were officially launched in August by the top university officials. The advanced stickers are said to be embedded with a QR code for digital verification, a tamper-proof hologram and a unique encrypted symbol to prevent misuse and duplication.
During the PUCSC elections, the authorities had sensitised the students regarding the same. From tomorrow, the university security is once again expected to maintain data on how many students are yet to get registered for availing of the facility.
