Over 500 students awarded degrees
Over 500 students received their degrees in various disciplines during the annual Degree Award Ceremony of the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, on Friday. The event highlighted the exceptional achievements of the institute and its graduates, marking a significant moment in their academic journey.
Chief guest Atul Karwal, a former IPS officer, in his address, motivated students to be passionate about their goal while upholding character. He emphasised the importance of integrity, urging the young graduates to avoid corruption and stay true to their principles in personal and professional lives.
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig expressed pride in the success of the students. Registrar Prof YP Verma addressed the students as the “Brand Ambassador of PU”, encouraging them to tap into their internal strength to shape their future and continue to represent the values of the university with pride.
Earlier delivering the welcome address, UIET Director Prof Sanjeev Puri extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class and their families. He presented the annual report, reflecting on the institute’s accomplishments and vision.
The event continued with the Annual Alumni Meet, which provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater.
A captivating singing performance by students and alumni added a melodious touch to the event, followed by an interactive session where alumni shared their stories, inspiring the audience and exchanging ideas with current students and faculty.
The day concluded with a High Tea, offering attendees the chance to reflect on the events of the day, reconnect with old friends and create lasting memories.
