A total of 5,258 students appeared in the Panjab University CET (UG) Entrance Test, conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses in the science stream today. The test was organised by the university across 24 centres — 19 in Chandigarh, two each in Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana, and one in Muktsar.

Controller of Examinations Prof Jagat Bhushan said 5,258 in Physics, 5,256 (Chemistry), 2,243 (Maths) and 3,271 (Biology) appeared in the exam. Incidentally, the figures are almost on a par with the last year’s numbers. The examination was overseen by several flying squads and observers, who were deputed to each centre to ensure routine checking and the smooth conduct of the process.

The test was held without any untoward incidents and all centres maintained a high standard of security and fairness, claimed the controller.

Following the announcement of the results, the online admission forms for the final admission process will be made available.
