While they were marching to lay siege to the Vidhan Sabha secretariat in Chandigarh, they were stopped by the police at Yavnika Garden here.

Talking to the protesters, a police official said: “You don’t have the required permission. First apply for it with the local police.”

Sandeep Das, state president of the TGT/PGT Patra Adhyapak Sangh, Haryana, said: “We are protesting the oppressive policies of the government. This is just a beginning. We will intensify our protest during the upcoming budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The Khattar government should withdraw its decision of cancellation of TGT English recruitment (9/2015) after six years.’’
