Painter held for wife’s murder
The police have arrested the husband of a woman from Maloya, who was declared brought dead at a city hospital on May 28, on the murder charge.
The 34-year-old suspect, Ramesh, a painter by profession, was booked under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Maloya police station. The incident had come to light when the GMSH-16 reported to the police that a woman, identified as 25-year-old Pinky Devi, was brought dead to the hospital.
The victim’s children, aged 10 and 7, and her father-in-law revealed that she had been stabbed in the stomach by her husband Ramesh following a domestic dispute.
Ramesh, who had fled after the assault, was nabbed on Thursday and produced in court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
