Panchkula administration cracks down on illegal colonies in villages

The District Town Planner (DTP) carried out a demolition drive, during which five damp proof courses (DPC) in the Baad village along with the road networks in unauthorised colonies at Kona and Lehrondi villages were removed.

The operation was conducted in the presence of Duty Magistrate and Assistant Town Planner Ashok Kumar and Junior Engineer Jaipal Dabas with the support of a police team.

Providing further details, DTP Sanjay Narang stated that prior to the demolition, notices had been issued by the department. However, as the defaulters failed to remove the unauthorised constructions, the department was compelled to take strict action.

He added that any construction or development of a colony without prior approval from the Director, Town and Country Planning Department was illegal and would be met with stringent legal action.

He appealed to the public to refrain from undertaking any construction or colony development without obtaining CLU (Change of Land Use) or licence approval from the department.
