The police have arrested one person for forging birth and death certificates through a fake ID of the Primary Health Centre, Kot village, in Panchkula district.

The accused has been identified as Dharmender Kumar, a native of Manunagar village in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, and at present residing in Balpur village.

The Ramgarh police post had received a complaint from the Primary Health Centre (PHC) of Kot village on June 18, 2021. During checking, it was found Mamraj, a resident of Bhadkalan, near Faridabad, was shown to have died in the records of the PHC. Some unidentified person had hacked the ID of the PHC to show a fake death in the records.

A case under sections 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC against unknown person was registered at the Chandi Mandir police station.

The police, during the investigation, arrested the main accused on June 27 and produced him before the court today which remanded him in police custody for four days.

The police said during preliminary investigation, Dharmender revealed that he had created the fake ID of the PHC, Kot, and issued about 50 to 60 fake birth and death certificates. The police said further investigation was on to arrest the other accused involved in the case.
