Hours after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini urged all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to visit villages monthly to directly address residents’ concerns, the officials sprang into action, with Commissioner of Police Rakesh Kumar Arya and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Himadri Kaushik already on the ground in Bunga and Golpura villages.

The village tour saw the officers engage with residents, including elders, women and children. The response in Golpura was positive, with locals reporting zero drug-related cases in the past two years. The local villagers, however, highlighted ongoing issues like water shortage and limited educational opportunities.

The DCP, while praising the village’s drug-free status, promised that the concerns would be passed on to the relevant authorities. She also assured that a new anti-drug awareness campaign and social initiatives to address the area’s challenges would be taken up.
