Panchkula DC orders repair of roads damaged by rain

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today reviewed the condition of rain-affected roads across the state through video conferencing with all Deputy Commissioners (DC) from Chandigarh. He directed them to ensure timely repairs to minimise inconvenience to the public.

Panchkula DC Satpal Sharma, who joined the meeting from the Mini Secretariat conference hall, assured that potholes on city roads would be repaired within three days.

Following the review, Sharma convened a meeting with officials from the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), PMDA, Municipal Corporation, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Public Works Department, and Urban Local Bodies. He instructed them to undertake immediate repairs of potholes in their respective jurisdictions and stressed the need to complete road works in the Morni region within the stipulated timeframe.

The DC said he would personally inspect road conditions and warned that no negligence in execution would be tolerated. Those present included SDM Chanderkant Kataria, Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Gaurav Chauhan, District Forest Officer Vishal Kaushik, HSVP Executive Engineer NK Payal, Executive Engineers from HSAMB and PWD (B&R), along with other departmental officers.
