The Panchkula Municipal Corporation on Friday launched a vertical garden at Majri Chowk here as part of its campaign to enhance the beauty of major chowks of the city.
Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal inaugurated the garden. He was accompanied by district BJP president Deepak Sharma, ward councillors Suresh Verma, Sonu Birla, Jai Kaushik and Sunit Singla, DMC Apoorva Chaudhary, SDO Ajay Chaudhary among others. The Panchkula MC has spent Rs 45 lakh on the garden.
The MC said more vertical gardens would be set up in Sector 20-21 and at the railway overbridge near the Mata Mansa Devi Complex. They said the objective of the vertical garden was to create greenery and reduce pollution in the city.
