A 37-year-old biker died after being hit by a tractor-trailer on the Dera Bassi-Ramgarh road this morning.

The victim, Sumit Sharma, a resident of Panchkula, was an accountant with a private company in Lalru. He was going to his office around 8:30 am when a tractor-trailer hit him from behind near Mubarikpur. The driver fled the spot leaving behind the vehicle.

Sumit is survived by his wife and four-year-old son. The police handed over the body to the victim’s kin after a post-mortem examination at the Dera Bassi subdivisional hospital.
