Panchkula man nabbed for theft

Panchkula, July 27

The Panchkula police arrested a thief for stealing dollars, cash (Indian rupees), gold and silver jewellery from a locked house in Sector 6 here.

The accused has been identified as Akash, alias Tatuan, a resident of Khadak Mangoli village, Panchkula.

A police spokesperson said Harbans lodged a complaint in this regard at the Sector 6 police post in February 2022. In his complaint, he said an unidentified person entered his house after breaking open the door. He also found the lock of the almirah broken. The accused took away US $800, Rs 15,000 in cash, gold, silver jewellery, silver utensils and coins kept in the almirah.

A case under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC was registered against the unidentified person at the Sector 7 police station.

The detective staff of the Panchkula police arrested the accused. Akash was today produced him in a court, which remanded him in two-day police custody.

Cash, jewellery & utensils were stolen
