Panchkula MC deputy chief, councillor booked on charges of assault
Panchkula, August 27
The Panchkula police have booked Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Apoorva Chaudhary and Councillor Akshaydeep Chaudhary in a matter of physical assault against one Ravi Trivedi. The case was registered after the complainant went to the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking action. DMC Apoorva Chaudhary, however, has rejected his claims. Trivedi, in his complaint, said Apoorva attacked him on August 13, at his house infront of Akshaydeep. He said the police only registered a case after 9 days. He said, “I used to work with a firm that was allocated the work of collection and disposal of garbage in the city and the DMC had been demanding a commission regarding which I had a word with him. He called me to his house but did not turn-up later he abducted me and attacked me while Akshaydeep watched.”
The complainant claimed that he also called the police and got his medical examination done on his own as the police did not register his case. The DMC refuted the claims. The councillor said he did not know about the attack.
