The police have launched a verification drive to identify illegal Bangladesh-based and Rohingya migrants in the city.

The initiative, aimed at strengthening local security, involves three special teams assigned to different zones: Zone-1 (Chandimandir and Raipur Rani), Zone-2 (Kalka and Pinjore), and Zone-3 (sectors 5, 7, 14, 20, and MDC). Each zone will be monitored by the respective police station in-charges.

The verification drive will include checking the documents of outsiders and ensuring tenant registrations are up to date. Commissioner of Police Rakesh Kumar Arya stressed that human rights should be respected throughout the process, with minimal inconvenience to local residents.
