In the wake of the recent incident in Pahalgam, newly appointed Panchkula Police Commissioner Shibas Kaviraj has issued strict orders to strengthen security across the district. All ACPs, Station House Officers (SHOs) and Police Post In-Charges have been directed to intensify patrolling and maintain round-the-clock alertness at checkpoints to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure public order.

Commissioner Kaviraj has further instructed all SHOs to conduct special meetings with principals and hostel wardens of educational institutions to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students. Acting on these orders, SHOs have been coordinating with officials to provide a secure environment for students from Kashmir.

The police have also increased surveillance at roadside eateries and public places. Meetings have been conducted with dhaba and hotel owners, who have been urged to treat Kashmiri customers with warmth and respect to promote communal harmony.
