Panchkula, August 17

Residents of the city carried out a candle march on Saturday over the gruesome rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata. The march was organised by social worker Rachna Roy, former DG Health Kamala Singh and others.

The march started from Sector 14 police station and ended at Sector 11 and 15 chowk. The participants took out a candle march, demanding justice in the matter and that the culprits be severely punished .

Rachna Roy said, “The entire country is shocked by the incident of rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata. It has created a feeling of not being safe among the doctor community and women.”

Numerous residents of the city, NGOs, doctors associated with the Indian Medical Association and others participated in the candle march.
