The 16th meeting of the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) was held today during which issues like installation of cat eyes and rumble strips at black spots in the city were taken up.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, also deliberated on construction of tabletops at various locations, widening of the road at Airport light point and installation of traffic lights/ATC lights at Kajheri Chowk, Furniture Market Chowk and the T-point of Sector 48 near the motor market, along with speed-calming measures.

The issue of mandatory requirement for CTU buses to operate strictly on the left side of the road within the city limits and the mandatory installation of speed governors in all transport vehicles, including CTU buses, were also taken up.

The timelines for the aforementioned engineering works were discussed and the DC instructed all departments concerned to complete these road safety-related tasks within the stipulated time frame.
