To exchange views and take decisions on issues that have popped up on Panjab University’s 17-point agenda of the Syndicate, a meeting of the university’s governing body will be convened on March 8 (Sunday).
To be held on September 20, the Senate elections will spark a dialogue in Syndicate meeting on videography of polling booths, voters list and honorarium for Senate election of 15 ordinary fellows from the constituency of registered graduates.
The governing body will also take a call on minutes of a committee meeting dated November 19, 2010, for framing and printing rules and regulations of MPhil/PhD guidelines in accordance with the UGC minimum standards and procedure for awarding the said degree. It will also consider the recommendations of Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar on two eminent jurists nominated on the ‘Research Degree Committee in Law’.
The Syndicate will also take a call on nominating two University Readers (Associate Professors) on the Academic Council for a duration from February 1, 2020, to March 31, 2022.
The minutes of a committee meeting, December 2, 2019, regarding increasing one unit each in BA (LLB) (Hons) at PURC, Ludhiana, and LLM, BA (LLB) (Hons) at PUSSGRC, Hoshiarpur, from the session 2020-21, will also be taken up by the PU Syndicate.
Deferred last time, the Syndicate will look into the various aspects of the Pension Policy of Panjab University (committee minutes dated December 27, 2019) and another committee’s recommendation dated December 3, 2019, with regard to open bids received in response to invitation of request for proposals (RFPs) for online fee collection and management system.
It will also take a call on leave cases of teaching staff and execution of several MoUs.
The governing body will also take a call on the minutes of a committee meeting dated November 19, 2010, for framing and printing rules and regulations of MPhil/PhD guidelines in accordance with the University Grants Commission minimum standards and procedure for awarding the said degree.
