Paras takes home 100m gold at All India Civil Services Athletics Championship
Indore’s Paras claimed the gold medal by clocking 10.51seconds in the 100 m open category event during the ongoing All India Civil Services Athletics Championship, at the Sector 7 Sports Complex.
Sunny Kumar (10.62s) and Gurpreet Singh (10.85s) claimed second and third position, respectively.
In the men’s 40-50 years event, Tuku Sethy (11.83s), Amarjeet (12.02s) and Vikrant (12.19s) claimed the top three positions. Similarly, M Mohan Kumar (12.45s) claimed the top position in the 50-60 years category, followed by Pramod Tandel (12.68s) and Himmat Singh (12.94s). The women’s competition 100m open event saw Manisha Merel clock 12.18s to take the gold medal. Rajashree Prasad (12.49s) and Sapna Kumari (12.70s) rounded out the top three positions.
In the 35-45 years event, Disha Patel (13.99s), Ashalatha (14.97s) and Kalavathi GP (15.04s) won medals, while in the 45-60 years category, Sunitha K (14.93s), Sarika Yadav (15.37s) and Mamta Joshi (15.62s) stood atop the podium.
In the men’s 800m event, Sumit clocked 2 minutes and 3.35 seconds (2:03.35s) to claim the top podium position, followed by Manjit Singh (2:03.50s) and Rajkumar Fandan (2:06.10s).
In the 50-60 years category, Raj Kumar (2:20.00s), Rajesh Kumar (2:24.35s) and KA Pavithran (2:25.37s) excelled with the top three timings.
In the women’s competition, Shivani Kumari (2:22.80s), Podila Kavya (2:31.30s) and Sunil Kumari (2:41.00s) claimed top three positions.
The men’s 400m hurdle race saw Anees Rahman (56.05s) claim the top honours, followed by Antony MJ (1:03.60s) and Virendra Ujjenkar (1:05.43s).
Dhivya J (1:04.35s) won the women’s gold, followed by Vishnu Priya J (1:12.80s) and Soma Jana (1:12.99s).
Among the field events, Harshith S won the men’s high jump with a 1.80 meter leap. He was followed by Sumit (1.75m) in the second position and Madkam Joga (1.70m) in third.
In the women’s event G Mary Shalini (1.40m), Sowmiya Murugan (1.35m) and Nita V Vaghasiya (1.25m) claimed top three positions.
Devinder Singh (17.28m0 won men’s shot put event, while Rohit Thakran (14.86m) and Ranjan Kumar Sahu (13.73m) finished second and third. In the 50-60 years category, Saleem Kilachaparandath (12.65m), Vincent Paul Ebenezer (12.52m) and Sanjay Gairola (11.88m) excelled, while in the women’s final, Abha Khatau (15.95m), Namitha GK (11.74m) and Soniya S Shinde(10.84m) bagged medals.
In the men’s discus throw ,Yogender (43.84m), Pradeep Kumar Mathur (41.55m) and RS Rathee (37.07m) took home the medals, while in the women’s event, Kusum Kumari (31.92s), Pooja Ahlawat (31.16s) and Poonam Kumari (28.95s) bested their competition. Ashutosh Kumar won the men’s javelin throw gold medal with a throw of 58.88m, followed by Rahul Dhatterwal (57.43m) at second position, and Anand Singh (52.73m) at third. The men’s hammer throw event saw Rajesh Kumar (45.82m), Mohammed Naif (41.91m) and Shil Bhushan (40.68m) bag medals.
