Pardeep Chaudhary tries to strike a chord with Kalka voters
The candidates in Panchkula and Kalka Assembly segments are adopting novel ways of campaigning.
Pardeep Chaudhary, who is the Congress candidate for the Kalka seat, has a song dedicated to his campaign which elaborates on his commitment towards the region and eradication of drug menace. In Panchkula, Aam Aadmi Party’s Prem Garg assures clean politics claiming he would contest without distributing alcohol or money.
Chaudhary’s song attempts to take a detour from usual lectures and announcements. His song begins with a notion of humility and goes on to state that he had been serving the people for over 30 years and had been the MLA twice. The song elaborates his objectives, “Pehla kamm jhooth te makari door karni, dooja kamm berozgari door karni (The first job is to stop lies and cheating followed by ending unemployment)”.
It takes a dig at BJP candidate and Ambala Mayor Shakti Rani Sharma, calling her an outsider. “Baharle leya ke candidate v khada laye, chon Kalka di Chaudhary nu hit dassugi (Others have brought candidates for outside, but the elections will prove that Chaudhary is a hit in the region.”
During his campaign and meetings, Chaudhary has been pointing out that the Kalka Assembly segment has been ignored during the last 10 years of BJP rule.
Garg promises clean politics
Prem Garg emphasised that he is into clean politics and will not resort to cheating, lies and distribution of freebies.
While his party workers can be seen raising slogans, including “Panchkula ne thana hai, Prem Garg ko lana hai (Panchkula has made up its mind to elect Prem Garg)”, the AAP leader stated that he was different from the flock. He added, “My election is a mission for cleansing politics. Panchkula won’t get a better candidate ever if we elect the same set of people, who have never met the expectations of the public.”
Garg pointed out that he held the highest education qualification and had over 40 years of work experience as a CA. He said, “I have honest and unimpeachable integrity, have a vision for holistic development of Panchkula, and won’t distribute a single drop of liquor or money to voters.”
