Park Hospital, Mohali, on Thursday launched a trauma helpline number, 7562000000, said a press release.

Addressing a press conference here, Dr Bhanu Pratap Singh, director of orthopedics and robotic joint replacement surgery, said that, ironically, in the last 12 years, while road accidents dipped by 5 per cent globally, India recorded an increase of 15.3 per cent.

There is an urgent need to spread awareness of the ‘golden hour’ period, where the first 60 minutes are most important in saving lives after an accident, opined Dr Saluja.
