In a meeting with workers, Malhotra clarified that if anyone claimed that a position was awarded due to personal relationship or alignment with certain groups, they should disregard it. He stressed that it was the organisation, not any individual, which determined appointments. He said the organisation was supreme.

Malhotra’s statement comes with regard to history of factionalism and infighting within the Chandigarh BJP. However, he reassured the workers that these issues had been significantly reduced, with no internal divisions now. With him re-elected, the groupism would take a backseat.
